Reading My Last Duchess reminded me why I fell in love with Eloisa James's writing and made me want to start the entire Wildes of Lindow Castle series all over again!

The Duke Effect
I was super excited for this final installment in the Rogue Files series. I really enjoyed Nora in her sisters' books, The Duke's Stolen Bride and The Virgin and The Rogue, and was SO ready for some opposites attract/enemies to lovers romance. And while there was some of that, there was also a lot of strange pacing and a decided lack of connection between Nora and Constantine.
Love is a Rogue
The first book in the Wallflowers vs. Rogues series picks up shortly after the end of One Fine Duke with the Duke of Thorndon's sister Beatrice and carpenter/sailor Stamford Wright who just. keeps. disturbing. her. peace.
Simmer Down
Simmer Down had its ups and downs for me; some things I really liked, others not so much. While I enjoyed the early banter and pranks Nikki and Callum pull on each other at the beginning, about a third of the way through I felt like the story started to drag.
Spoiler Alert
I've been trying to figure out how to convey all my feelings about Spoiler Alert, and I'm not sure I'll succeed, but I'm gonna try. Olivia Dade writes amazing stories about fat women living their kickass lives, having great sex, and finding love and that means so much to me. It also kind of turns me into a puddle of emotion. I mean I had tears in my eyes by the damn dedication. But, like, in a good way.
A Widow’s Guide to Scandal
A Widow's Guide to Scandal was a delightful childhood friends to lovers romance with a bit of Revolutionary War intrigue on the side! I believe this was my first US Revolutionary War romance, which made for a very interesting setting to Henrietta and Marcus's story.
An Irresistible Force
I. LOVED. This. Book. The snark. The tension. The laughter. The steamy sex. The healing. Ugh, my heart. Bernie Nolan is taking back her life. The first step? Stopping at nothing to prevent her uncle and The Handymen crew from demolishing her family's summer home. Including, but not limited to, handcuffing herself to the house and resisting the very sexy middle Zorn brother as he tries his best to convince her to leave.
Well Played
I went back and forth on my rating for Well Played and ended up at a solid 3 stars. I really enjoyed Stacy and loved getting to go back to the Willow Creek Ren Faire. In addition, we get to attend Emily and Simon's wedding and see more of Mitch and April (book 3!), which I definitely have no complaints about...
The Roommate
I'm still in awe that The Roommate is Rosie Danan's debut because wow! She packed so much punch in this story, from Clara coming into her own as she faces the world outside of academia and her influential family's bubble to she and Josh working together to create something for the female gaze, focused solely on female pleasure.
Like Lovers Do
Holy hammock-sex Batman! Like Lovers Do was an absolutely fabulous friends-to-lovers, fake relationship romance with some sexy sexy times. (Re: Hammock. Sex!) It's not very often you come across a friends-to-lovers romance that feel as genuine as Nic and Ben's relationship does. You just feel it in your bones.
