My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked The Dating Plan! It was lighthearted and funny some moments then a little dark and heartbreaking at others (don’t worry – definitely still a HEA, and I feel much more comfortable calling this a rom-com than a lot of other books that have been billed as such). Both Daisy and Liam have trauma from toxic and abusive parenting (her mom, his dad) that has affected the way they live their lives and plays a large part in their relationship. At the same time, they can both be 100% themselves around each other and I love how playful they are together!

After ditching her on the night of her senior prom and skipping out of town without a word, Daisy never expected to see her big brother’s best friend ever again – and if she never did, it would still be too soon. So imagine her surprise (dismay, horror, etc.) to run into him at a work conference with her ex-boss and ex-boyfriend approaching from one side and one of her Aunties with the newest candidate for Daisy’s Husband (not that she asked for one) approaching from the other.

When a sudden spur of the moment kiss snowballs into a fake engagement and walls 1o years in the making begin to come down, Daisy and Liam have to decide if they’re going to stick to the plan or take a risk on something real.

There were definite parts of this that were over the top, but I was 100% here for it. From sword fights with mannequins to matching marvel underwear, those over-the-top moments are what made this a real rom-com for me. Also, this is a very sexy rom-com, which is always a plus. It did disappoint me just a little bit how many people knew that the relationship was fake, but honestly the tension and chemistry between Daisy and Liam made it all worth it!

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
