The Bad Luck Bride

The Bad Luck Bride by Janna MacGregor
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

*Really a 3.5*

I enjoyed The Bad Luck Bride, but had trouble getting invested in the MC’s until about halfway through. It felt disjointed in the beginning and a little rushed. I know that prologues are not a favorite for many people, but it may have helped here for the readers to understand the mindset of the characters.

The second half of the book was much more enjoyable – that’s when you really start to understand what motivates Claire and Alex and start rooting for them. (Even though Alex is absolutely shite at groveling.) Clare and Alex also have some cute banter throughout the book that helped make it fun to read.

Overall, The Bad Luck Bride was an okay read, but it did a very good job of getting me excited for the next book in the series!
