Oh my gosh this book. How do I even begin to articulate how much I ADORED it? In summary: I Just Really Really Love Wesley Koehler, Okay?
So far January has delivered all sorts of tasty enemies/rivals to lovers, and The Ex Talk might just take the cake. And I love cake. A definite win for me!
This is an absolutely freaking adorable intial-misunderstanding-to-ongoing-antagonism-to-maybe-I-misjudged-you-to-oh-crap-I-love-you romance! Henley and Graeme are super cute (I think I’m legitimately in love with Graeme?) and Henley’s sister Walsh and would-be admirer Nikolai are wonderfully memorable.
I went back and forth on my rating for Well Played and ended up at a solid 3 stars. I really enjoyed Stacy and loved getting to go back to the Willow Creek Ren Faire. In addition, we get to attend Emily and Simon’s wedding and see more of Mitch and April (book 3!), which I definitely have no complaints about…
There were a couple of things working against Not Like the Movies for me from the start. First, it’s a single POV. I’m not a big fan of single POV romances, especially if it’s first-person. I really feel like we miss something by not getting all the MC’s POV in romance. I need ALL the feels.
